Preventing Homelessness and Providing Hope: How One Bay Area Collaborative is Preventing Family Evictions

The Family Eviction Prevention Collaborative (FEPCO) was recognized nationally last year. FEPCO helps families maintain affordable housing by preserving long-term tenancies and preventing homelessness through the provision of rental assistance and long-term housing advocacy to low-income families facing evictions in San Francisco. FEPCOâs primary goal is to build a cohesive community of service providers to streamline the rental assistance intake process for low-income, at-risk families and individuals in San Francisco, thus avoiding duplication of services and eliminating multiple program visits for the client. A consolidated rental assistance intake packet, shared by partner agencies, helps staff gather all of the information necessary for a client to receive assistance from any FEPCO agency.

Presenters: Jose Cartagena, Karen Erickson, and Cindy Ward
