This interactive panel will share strategies for successful on-the-ground approaches to building community and discuss new online tools that have the power to dramatically extend an organization’s ability to interact with, empower, and forge community among supporters dispersed across the globe. Panelists will discuss the ways organizations are using mainstream social networking sites such as MySpace, Facebook, and newer community sites for the social sector such as WiserEarth and Change.org, and what the future might hold for integrating online and offline strategies to create lasting community.
